Entrepreneur - the importance of time

Time is your most important resource, second to none. Time  the 4th dimension, is gold, time lost is lost forever.  We are given only 24 hours in a day equally no more no less.  But why are some people more successful than others.  Its because they manage their time well.

Quote from Alexander the Great who conquered almost 1/4 of the Globe when he was yet in his 30's

1. Time is your most precious gift because you only have a set amount of it. You can make more money, but you can't make more time. When you give someone your time, you are giving them a portion of your life that you'll never get back. Your time is your life. That is why the greatest gift you can give someone is your time.

Thus in a corporate world:

1.  Time management should be taught and practiced;  every one should have an organizer

2.  Encourage people to be punctual.   Reward the doers...

3.  Penalize those who cant...

You raise me up; in order to succeed you have to make other people rise up

This is contrary to most common behavior of superiors and bosses;  they take credit for subordinates work, step on their toes, make life difficult for them demean them, insult, demotivate them.  It is a common knowledge that people leave their bosses, not the company. 

To lift a boat in a canal, you have to pump water to raise water.   Same with life;  in order to rise in life and career, you have to raise your people, so that they will push you up

Success - real meaning

Many people equate success with power and money.  And thus many people end up as Lords - jueteng or drug Lord.. Ladies sell their bodies for money

But the real meaning of success is achieving what you set out to do.  It could be big or small.  Small as getting to your work and appointment on time.  Or finishing all the tasks you listed down in your organizer.

Or big like putting up 20 branches in a year, or reaching revenues of P10B in 5 years.

You need to know the score

In a basketball or football game, the final score counts   All the work for the season:  the recruitment, the training etc all boils down to the final score.  If the score of the other team is higher than yours then you are beaten.   Some lessons:   you must record the results, (the Performance Indicator) and you muster the team effort to win;   winning is all about being able to  get the team to work together, to execute the plays right, to have the court leadership for every body to play to their max.  You need a coach, a mentor to win..

Who says it is not about the winning, its about how you play... There is no point in putting up a team if all that it wants is how it plays...

Thus in a business you need to know the results:  there is a need for keeping the score which must be communicated to everyone.  We must be all relevant to the score....

The score motivates every one to do his best, if not to be better.
