From Forbes: Real Leaders run towards problems not away from them
Most of us are in the habit of denying running away or ignoring problems, because they are hard, unpleasant bad for the ego or we can be hurt. So we defer the solution or facing the protagonists. And the problem gets worse.
Even the scripture says we must run towards problem It will make us learn more and grow faster in the grace of the Lord.. Problems are teachers. They make us better.
There was story about National Batteries and there was a warehouseful of batteries that did not work. It constituted a great loss to National. So the Chairman Matsushita was naturally mad and reprimanded the vice president in charge of manufacturing who could not do anything about the big loss and management error...
So Matsuhshita sat down and placed the battery on a table and looked at it through the night. The following morning he found out the problem: the gel inside the battery was too dry and did not conduct electricity. The solution was to make the gel a little wet. And the solution was to bore little holes in the battery and soak this in fluid to wet the electrolyte. How did he find the solution? He said the battery talked to him and told him the solution...
